A new bottle or a refilled dispenser will have an empty pump mechanism that needs to be "primed."
Remove any Seals: Take off the bottle's cap and remove any protective foil or plastic seal under the cap.
Attach the Pump: If it's separate, screw the pump assembly tightly onto the bottle neck.
Prime the Pump:
Point the nozzle away from yourself and anything fragile.
Press the pump head down repeatedly (usually 3-10 times). You may hear air whooshing out initially.
Continue pumping until a consistent stream or dollop of product is dispensed.
Once primed, the pump is ready for normal use.
